Our "Purple Petals" program offers financial assistance in the form of meals cards, gas cards, housing, utiltities, out-of-pocket medical expenses, hair loss replacement, or back-up childcare. With each mailing, purple petals are included to signify the community's effort to support the MAMCF Mom and her young family.
Our "It's a Beautiful Deigh" program provides peer support and is named after our first beneficiary Desiree David aka "Deigh," With this program, we provide quarterly luncheons where our MAMCF moms can get together and discuss side effects, share advice, discuss fears, or just vent about the daily struggles of raising young children while undergoing cancer treatment. Moms can also blog about their experiences through an online forum called "Liv Letters."
Kinsey's Corner is a program in which we support the children of our MAMCF moms by offering family breaks, daycare through Kindercare Learning Centers and cancer-related children's books. The program was named after the child of legendary MAMCF mom Carmela Ocampo Tuason. Even just a few hours of family time together can help recharge not only the caregiver in the family, but the children as well.
