Desiree is Mommy and Me Cancer Foundation's very first MAMCF mom. Desiree also known as "Deigh" had a vibrant spirit and a knack for fashion. She was well known for her energy and strength. Founding fathers of MAMCF were captivated by her cancer journey stories. Many of our programs were designed based on Desiree's concerns as a cancer patient and a mother of a 4-year-old girl. Desiree battled Stage 4 breast cancer. Although she no longer lives with us, she leaves behind a legacy that will continue through MAMCF. Her contributions and passion to help other young moms was evident at each Mommy Luncheon, as she shared advice and hugs to those battling the same fight. She also helped design Miles for MAM gear, educated staff on cancer nutrition, attended all meetings, cheered at all athelete events, consulted the Program Director in developing programs, and was the "Welcome Comittee" for new moms. At our last annual gala, she was recognized for her contributions with our first scholarship being named "Desiree David Scholarship." No doubt, her presence, her laugh , her care for others will live on through MAMCF.
