In 2009, Cynthia was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a lumpectomy. Fortunately, it did not reach lymph nodes and therefore stayed stage 1. However, the following year the cancer was discovered again but this time in her Fallopian tubes. It quickly spread to her uterus. Through another diagnosic test, they discovered the cancer had spread to Cynthia’s liver. She was then told it was Stage 4. Shortly after learning this, she had to undergo microbeam chemotherapy. She responded well, so her PET scan or ultrasound showed that the tumors were now only lesions. We always hope and pray for the best with every PET scan. Cynthia has a giving heart and an amazingly positive attitude. She currently raises a foster child and also 3 boys.
