LIV LETTER - You Are The Best Medicine

You Are The Best Medicine

I recently came across a book called, You Are The Best Medicine, by Julie Aigner Clark. It is a children's book that illustrates how mom will be sick and may look different. It helps to explain the changes surrounding a mom’s illness in a way that a young child can understand. The children really are the best medicine, for they provide laughter and happiness. Knowing and feeling that unconditional love is profound and just that alone can motivate a mom to endure treatment. Being present for their children is what our moms strive for.

"I want to be at my daughters' graduations. I want to be at their weddings. I want to hold my grandchildren," Amy Robach

She underwent a bilateral mastectomy even after being told that she can do a lumpectomy and radiation. She did not want to take the chance that the cancer would return. Her best medicine..............her motivation........... was her children.
